 You will need to complete the NZELTO Programme Application Form using the link below by Friday 6th March 2026.  

It is important that you correctly fill out all relevant sections in the form and include all documents listed below. Incomplete forms can cause delays with your application and may also lead to your application missing the closing date (Friday 6th March 2026).

BEFORE you click on the link, please ensure you are prepared as you will lose your completed information if you close your browser – the document does not autosave. You can only submit an application once. 

Preparing for the questions

We strongly recommend you think about the following questions before you start to apply. Pre-write about 150-250 words for each question so that you can copy and paste the answers into the online form.

  • Provide a brief job description, outlining your responsibilities and duties.
  • Describe how your current work is linked to international relations.  Please include a description of any engagement with English-speaking countries and/or involvement in international forums.
  • What are the learning outcomes you hope to achieve from this NZELTO programme? Please include a description of any particular skills and knowledge you want to gain from this programme.  Please be as specific as possible.
  • How would these outcomes enhance the work you and your organisation are engaged in? Be as specific as possible.  
  • What are your career aspirations? How would the programme assist you in achieving these goals? 

Additional documents required

As well as completing the online application form you are required to upload the following documents by Friday 6th March 2026.

  • A certified (colour) copy of the personal page of your passport.
  • A completed employer endorsement form, stamped and signed by a direct manager.
  • A current curriculum vitae (in English). 
  • A current job description stating your position title and outlining your responsibilities and duties (in English).
  • Where available, certified copies of any international English proficiency test results from within the last 24 months
  • A current video of yourself answering the questions below:
    •  1. Describe your job
      •  a) What is your role and what are your key responsibilities?
      •  b) Which countries do you work closely with?
      •  c) How do you use English in your work?
    •  2. Areas of relevance and interest
      •  a) How does your job relate to issues in Asia, the Pacific or Oceania?
      •  b) How does your job relate to the areas of security, trade, climate change or sustainability?
    •  3. Development needs
      •  a) In your role, what is your country’s most urgent development needs?
  • You should talk for 2 or 3 minutes and no longer than 4 minutes.

Where a document is listed as needing to be certified, they must be certified true copies of originals with the official stamp of the school/institution where relevant, or from a Justice of the Peace, Solicitor, Notary Public or other authorised official. Where original documents are not in English, you must provide certified true copies of official English translations.
